Thanks to victory in Italy and Singapore, Alonso has now collected 191 points. With that amount, the Renault driver now occupy second position in the drivers' standings by a margin 11 points Webber.
However, Alonso did not want to lose vigilance despite success in picking winning the last two series. Still there are four final series to be served, with the first attended this weekend in Japan.
"I know the toughest part is still there in front of us. Two consecutive wins is already cut the difference that exists, but we have not led the standings," said Alonso in The Sun.
"Now all be more serious. We will experience the hardship and it was time for us all to give everything, without a single step backwards," she cried.
Standings situation where competition is still open enough for the top racers also make Alonso did not want to underestimate anyone because conditions could change suddenly.
"There are five drivers who pursue a degree. This year we've seen the situation can change rapidly, so anything can still happen."
